This past weekend, we from Thriving Green attended the 4th Regensburg Association Competence Day. It was a day filled with exchanges, engaging conversations, and passionate people, all working with very different approaches to make our society a little more sustainable and livable. For us, it was a great opportunity to present our work and, at the same time, gain new insights from the community.
For us, the event provided the ideal platform to present our work and, at the same time, gain valuable insights from the regional community. The focus of our presentation was our core mission: rethinking sustainable nutrition and developing practical solutions that have a future even under the conditions of global warming. Our focus here is on the cultivation of spirulina. The microalgae attracted a great deal of interest, and for good reason: Spirulina combines high nutrient density with comparatively low resource requirements and versatile applications. For Thriving Green, spirulina is not merely a trend or a buzzword like “superfood,” but a tangible, practical building block for sustainable food systems.
The face-to-face conversations on-site were particularly enriching. The direct exchange with other organizations, funding agencies, and interested parties demonstrated once again just how open people are to sustainable solutions, but also how important it remains to explain complex topics clearly and in a practical way. This is precisely where we see our strength: we build bridges between research, innovation, and implementation, and make concepts understandable and applicable for a wide range of stakeholders.
We’re taking home not only new contacts and project ideas, but above all a great deal of motivation and drive. The Vereins Kompetenztag clearly demonstrates what becomes possible when people come together, share experiences, and work on solutions collaboratively. A heartfelt thank you to the organizing team at the VereinsAkademie Regensburg and to everyone who visited our booth, asked questions, or shared their perspectives. We look forward to continued dialogue and to advancing our projects step by step.
